Over the next year, 40,000 households in Aalborg will have the opportunity to learn more about their heat consumption using the Watts app. The cooperation is the first in a series of more supplies.
When district heating customers in Aalborg Forsyning will have read their heat consumption in the future, it happens automatically with new remotely read meters. It will therefore be easier for customers to keep an eye on consumption and avoid heat waste – and Watts will also help with this.
"At the request of several interested utilities, we have decided to expand Watts to not only keep an eye on electricity, but also on the utilities of district heating and eventually also water. Aalborg Forsyning was looking for a tool to help customers keep an eye on just this, and therefore we have now entered into a collaboration", says Per Madsen, Head of Department for Watts A/S.
Avoids boring surprises
With the help of Watts, it will be possible for district heating customers in Aalborg Forsyning to follow,
whether district heating is being used as it should – and if it doesn't, Watts can tell you with a series of warnings.
"We can see a lot of opportunities for ourselves and our customers in picking up Watts. For example, the app's budget feature can warn our customers against overspending before it actually takes place. At the same time, with the cooperation, we take a big step forward in our customer communication, which is an important element in our work with green transition", says Jesper Møller Larsen, Supply Manager at Aalborg Forsyning.
More supplies are interested
Aalborg Forsyning is not alone in being interested in Watts. Companies such as Kalundborg Forsyning, Forsyning Helsingør and Frederiksberg Forsyning have also signed up and started dialogue – and even more are on the way:
"We can clearly feel that with the expansion of Watts we are generating interest from other utilities that contact us and want to know more. We are super happy about this, and we are very happy to hear from others who might be interested in a collaboration", says Per Madsen.
